Our New Nursery is now open !

New Building
Our New Nursery is now open, a couple of weeks late, but we have acheived so much over the summer - completly building the brand new setting and getting it ready, we would like to thank all our parents and families for there patience, and especialy there support, which has been tremendous.

Our new location is a million times better than our last home, we have lots of open space for the kids to play and explore, on street parking in abundance, and very easy safe access.

Because of the space and location, we are planning to expand the services we provide, and will be announcing our exciting new programme, within the next few days.

Jellybean will continue to be one of the finest and most highly rated settings in Birmingham.

Please contact us now for your child's placement.

We have funded vacancies in all age bands, full and part-time.

Who helped build our Nursery.

We could not have built the new nursery without Dojo Community Project's support, however there are some special and unique people who gave their time, resources and support to the project without reservation, without there individual contributions none of this would of happened, we would like to give them a huge Thank You.

Catalyst for the whole project was Paul & Sammy at DARE Professional Audio, from the outset they were supported by Lifschutz Davidson Sandilands, who handled the Architectural work, Planning Application and Building Regulations throughout, keeping us on track - architect David Mackay, the support by everyone at LDS has been a revelation for a company of their stature, and a genuine inspiration.

Various trade people gave time to the project, either at reduced rates or free, Milan Ilic was always on hand to advise, and Kevin Roberts made sure that things will stay dry from a roofing point of view. Dave “The Digger” Grenfell did exactly that and Mark Mead made sure we have Water and Heating, and finally John Butler – Electrician who brought us power, security and safety.

The effort put in by every individual can not be underestimated, many of which are not from the area, but have a strong belief in actually doing something to help others rather than - just talking about it, because of this - the area will certainly be a better place to live and grow up.

We at Dojo, Jellybean and the wider community will go some way to repaying these altruistic efforts, by ensuring that the centre flourishes - a shining light of what can be achieved at a grass roots level.

Welcome

Jellybean Nursery was founded in 2000, located in the Soho Hill area of Handsworth Birmingham,  we are a long established, small family setting with approximately 30 children at any one time, we strive to achieve the highest standards for our children, and in 2012 we received the highest Quality Assurance award in Birmingham, when we were awarded the Effective Early Learning Quality Assurance Award, our nursery has also completed an Early Years Healthy Setting Program.

In Septemeber 2014 we moved to our new building on Claremont Road, Soho Hill.

We employ a caring, nurturing environment to which all children feel happy and enjoy coming to nursery. The positive free flowing nursery environment enables each unique child to build good, positive relationships. Being able to reach each area of learning within free play in the setting helps children to enjoy a wide range of activities and to reach their own set targets.

At Jellybean's every child is treated in their own unique, individual way, we believe every child is different and have their own character and temperament. We communicate with children in many different ways and using Makaton is one of our projects - which all of the children enjoy. We believe that listening to children is important and each child should be listened to and valued.

Learning about cultures and religions is something we pay great attention to, we have an equal opportunities leader within the setting, we have a setting based SENCO who works continuously alongside the area SEN team to identify and support any children with learning difficulties and / or disabilities.

Equal opportunities are very important in nursery and we understand that people have different needs, views, cultures and beliefs that need to be treated with respect.

“We genuinely believe that our children should receive the very best in Care, Play and Education, our awards and qualifications show that we deliver this consistently Year in - Year out
